The PlayStation Portable was graced with a complete package of Disgaea that left many a console gamer jealous with envy of their portable counterparts.
Console gamers, you can rest easy: Disgaea 3 will be gracing the PlayStation 3 this August. The Disgaea series offers hardcore, turn-based strategy for the PlayStation family of hardware. Character units have limited movements and attack ranges based on their level and equipped weapons, meaning players must think long and hard about the actions they make or suffer the consequences. Other game factors also allow you to take advantage of the 3D battle map. One such feature new to the Disgaea series is the addition of Geo Block, which allows the creation of 3D battles instead of traditional 2D.
Other key features include Geo Panel, which alters the elemental properties on certain parts of the battlefield, and Item World, a randomly generated battle stage inside every item you find. By defeating the battle stages within, players are able to strengthen their items. If you're looking for ways to artificially extend your game, this is one of them. Then again, the Disgaea series is known for being close to 100 hours, so you might not need to artificially extend anything.
