2K Sports Jumps in Bed with Baseball Wives
It's for charity! Get your mind out of the gutter

What better way to kick off the weekend than to hit pop flies for charity? 2K Sports and the Baseball Wives Charitable Foundation are partnering together for the third annual 2K Sports Video Game Challenge and Fashion Show. I'm unsure why there's a fashion show involved, but 2K Sports has all the money, so I'm not going to question it.
On Friday, March 7th, an assortment of Major League Baseball players, such as Todd Helton, Dan Haren, Hank Blalock, and Alex Gordon, will pile into the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona in an attempt to raise money for charity. The event is open to public, who can watch the Major Leaguers square off in the Home Run Derby contest on the Wii version of Major League Baseball 2K8. Whether anyone else will be allowed to play is uncertain. All proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Denver and Oakland, in memory of Joe Kennedy, former Major League pitcher.
After the tournament, the Baseball Wives Charitable Foundation, with help from the local philanthropic group Las Palmoas, will host a fashion show. Tickets for the fashion show, and subsequent dinner, are available for purchase and all proceeds will go to the Arizona chapter of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. Let's hope no steroid scandals break out during the video game tournament or this event is going to be a bust.

Fashion Show
Players' wives and children will model the latest fashions as dinner is served. Proceeds will benefit the Arizona chapter of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America.

Maybe if 2K Sports sells enough Major League Baseball 2K8 units across all of the systems they won't have to do events where fashion shows are involved? Just a thought.
