[Gone Gold] February 12th

Ancient China Needs Your Help
Author: Warren Stallworth
Published: February 12, 2008
For the uninitiated, a game going gold means it's effectively done. The final version of the code has been pressed to a master disc (back in the day it was actually gold colored, hence the name) and has been sent off to be mass produced (pending a final screening, test and approvals process from the big three, mind you). In most cases, this means the game will be hitting stores in a matter of weeks, so to keep you abreast of when things are hitting, we'll plug it in here, possibly throwing in a quote or two if a publisher is feeling especially verbose.

And now, for this week's fun:

[PlayStation 3]
Dynasty Warriors 6 | Release: February 19th
Set this time in Ancient China during the 3rd century, players will get the chance to use the game's new "Renbu" attack system to chain together lightning-fast combos and mystifying fighting moves with ease. The game's engine is a prorpiertary engine that was built specifically for the next-generation platforms, delivering gorgeous 720p visuals for one or two players. If you can't get enough "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", the basis for the epic story in Dynasty Warriors 6, you'll want to add this to your list. The fall of the Han Dynasty awaits.

Publishers: Want to make sure we've got your games in our Gone Gold blurbs? Just kick over those press releases or a note from the team to GoneGold@TotalPlayStation.com and we'll make sure they get tossed into the rotation.
