KOEI Appoints a New Executive Vice President
Romance of the Three Kingdoms Fans bow to their new leader
Published: February 12, 2008
All you long time KOEI fans will be happy to know that you have a new semi-overlord. Naoki Katashima was appointed to the role of Exeuctive Vice President of KOEI Ltd. in the UK, KOEI France, and KOEI Corporation in North America. In his new role, he'll be responsible for managing sales and marketing in all of the major territories the three companies cover.
It might seem a bit strange to appoint someone in the middle of February, but don't fret KOEI fans, it's all part of KOEI's mid-term plans, which also involve taking over the world. They're also forming two global business divisions in their Yokohama, Japan headquarters, which will focus on the Western and Asian markets respectively. Katashima-san will also serve as General Manager of KOEI's Global Business Division, using his expertise in the North American and European markets from his castle tower in Hertfordshire, England.
"This new mid-term plan is a very significant development for KOEI. The plan demonstrates our renewed commitment to our western businesses and the importance with which KOEI views the markets outside of Japan," Naoki Katashima said. "This plan establishes an entirely new division that unifies all of KOEI's western territories, and represents a substantial part of the company overall. Now more than ever, KOEI's development studios, and sales and marketing teams around the world are working more closely together to develop remarkable entertainment experiences for video gamers across the globe."
For gamers, this means we should be getting more of KOEI's excellent strategy and action games in the territories that have been ignored. Of course this means more Dynasty Warriors, which is always a good thing.
Before Katashima-san was appointed to his new position, he was Senior Vice President of KOEI Ltd. Looks like he went from the right hand to the iron fist.
