Warhawk Expansion Imminent
Omega Dawn is coming. Details and screens inside.

Poor Warhawk had to endure some awfully big growing pains out of the gate. It started strong, launching both as a disc-based offering and a PlayStation Network download, but the multiplayer-only game, despite having a private beta meant to squeeze out lingering issues, was ill prepared to handle the number of people that jumped in. Developer Incognito was swamped with issues ranging from misreported and unsaved stats to system-freezing crashes to an inability to even get into a game.
All of that is behind them now, however, as patches have stomped out most of the launch day issues (and even a few more that weren't quite so game-breaking) and the development team and Sony's Santa Monica Studios are churning away at the first expansion for the game. The all new Operation: Omega Dawn pack will add an all-new nighttime map, will remix some of the existing maps to create new configurations, and brings with it one of the most significant vehicle additions we've seen yet in a PS3 game: the KT-424 Combat Dropship.
Armed with multiple turrets for defense and capable of transporting entire squads and vehicles alike, Director Dylan Jobe equated tackling the Dropships with a challenge on the level of "a Multiplayer BOSS" in the official blog, which is admittedly a rather neat little addition to the game.
We've got the first screens of the new map and the Dropship in action, and hopefully Sony will treat us press dorks to the same Warhawk Wednesdays treatment that we saw before the game shipped so we can bring you updated details on the new maps and vehicle before they arrive next month. Deets when we get 'em!
