[Shipping Out] October 3rd
The release list arrives a day late and whole lotta games short, but hey, at least we've got lots o' Spidey!
Published: October 3, 2007
Welcome to Shipping Out, our weekly notice of all them thar games that ship from publishers to retailers in preparation for their street date a day later. In many cases, these games won't be on store shelves until tomorrow, but in the interest of getting the word out, letting the PR departments have their fancy quotes and saving us sanity as the weekly releases pile up, we're going to be consolidating everything down into one handy little news story at the end of the day, along with this description. Neat, eh? And lazy!
[PlayStation 2]
[Spider-Man: Friend or Foe]
With no actual Spider-Man movie to release a tie-in game with (and that may be a good thing), Activision handed coding duties over to Next Level Games and told 'em to go nuts on the PS2 and PSP, raking in that sweet, sweet licensed game cash. But hey, if Activision has anything to say about it, it'll be the greatest game ever!
“Inspired by both the Spider-Man film trilogy and the classic Spider-Man comics, Spider-Man: Friend for Foe is a unique take on the most successful Super Hero franchise of all time,” explains Rob Kostich, Activision's VP of Global Brand Management. “For the first time ever in a Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe features a unique co-op mode in which a friend can join the game at any time and take control of Spider-Man’s sidekick as they battle side-by-side and replay favorite levels.”
[PlayStation Portable]
[Spider-Man: Friend or Foe]
Psst. Hey, hey you. Yeah, you, look up a couple paragraphs and you'll know allllll about this one.
Update: Yep, we're retarded. Spidey is shipping out for the PSP next week. Hopefully we didn't cause any accidental trips to your nearest games store.
And there you have it. This list is barren to be sure, but it's by no means an indication of what's actually shipping, just what we've gotten the official word on.
Publishers: Want to make sure we've got your games in our weekly Shipping Out blurbs? Just kick over those shipping press releases to ShippingOut@TotalPlayStation.com and we'll make sure they get tossed into the rotation.
