It’s been a good month and a half since Sony Computer Entertainment America released its Firmware 2.5 update into the online world, and reminding us of how delightfully persistent the folks at Sony remain in making even nitpicky enhancements to their multi-functional handheld, today marks the release of Firmware 2.6 for the PSP.
Possibly the most significant update is WMA support, with new codecs intact for the playback of music files. Also here are is a new RSS feed for users to subscribe to Podcasts (though not text-based RSS feeds – d’oh!), volume adjustment for the LocationFree, support of copyright protected videos, and simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese encoding browser options for our Eastern pals.
You know the drill, folks – hit up the Network Update feature on those PSPs to nab this one.
