No doubt peaking our curiosity in the wonders of next-generation gaming, Sega is joining forces with San-Francisco based developer Secret Level (of the upcoming America's Army: Rise of a Soldier) in remaking what's said to be a classic Sega franchise for the PlayStation 3 (oh, and Xbox 360). In regards to what that franchise actually is, though... well, your guess is as good as ours.
"Sega will become a leading publisher on the next generation of console hardware by marketing great Western-developed content that includes properties from a rich portfolio of Sega games," ensures Simon Jeffery, President and COO, Sega of America. "The talented design team at Secret Level has demonstrated innovation in game development and has a history of technical achievements that will help Sega reinvigorate a vintage and highly commercial franchise."
Details? Release date? No dice, as of now, folks, but this is apparently part of Sega's master plan to snatch all the partners it can for Western development. We'll keep you updated.
