That's right, Europe, you get some PSP RPG goodness too!

Annnnd just like that, all our snarky comments about the PSP getting "one of its last games" is made even more foolish. Just a day after Atlus announced they were porting a PS2 game to PSP, we've got some good news for Euro PSP owners: Fate/EXTRA, published here in the States by Aksys, will be bound for farther shores by way of Ghostlight.

For those uninitiated, Fate/EXTRA is an RPG originally published in Japan as a kind of companion piece to Fate/Stay Night, one of those "visual novels" that are all the rage in Nippon. Though the role-playing game was released here back in 2011, European PSP owners had to miss out -- likely because Aksys Games is one of those awesome boutique publishers that are almost single-handedly keeping the PSP alive, but don't have the massive global reach of the bigger publishers to push stuff out everywhere at the same time. Thanks to Ghostlight, however, that's not really an issue. Ghostlight sums the story up thusly:

[About Fate/EXTRA]
Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, the main
character finds themselves forced to fight for survival in a war they do not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one’s wish granted. With only an enigmatic "Servant" by their side, the protagonist will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the "Holy Grail," but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: "Who am I?"

Mysterious! To help celebrate, we've gussied up our Fate/EXTRA page with a few new screens. Give them a looksee, won't you? And for those of you in Euroland, you'll be able to get your hands on the game come "later this year."
