Aksys Games Reveals Pre-Order Bonuses for BlazBlue Limited Edition
Purchase PS3 or 360 versions of Continuum Shift EXTEND early and get some nifty swag.
Published: January 11, 2012
Limited Edition releases are all the rage these days -- particularly ones from smaller publishers looking to maximize day one sales. Sadly, the whole pre-order process has become tainted by shameless exclusive deals or items that can actually impact online experiences, which is why we're happy to hear Aksys Games is keeping things relatively simple with their pre-order LE version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND.
By pre-ordering the game at either GameStop or Amazon, you'll get the game, naturally, but also a 2012 Calamity x Continuum Calendar, a 17-song soundtrack and a 40-page art book containing concept art of the newest characters, event scenes and artist illustrations. Not bad for dropping the same amount of cash you would were you to actually walk into the store or click around online when the game came out, eh?
But wait, there's more! To celebrate last month's launch of BlazBlue Revolution (BlueRevo to all the cool kids), ARC System Works' official Japanese tournament site, Aksys is offering to fly a team out to Japan, covering airfare and hotel accommodations as they rep the US in the finals. Of course, that team will first have to claim the local title in Los Angeles on February 25th, so it's probably not a bad idea to start boning up on your BlazBlue skills now. BlueRevo has all the details on where the qualifying tourneys are starting next week, so don't be a stranger.
We know what you're thinking, though. Why not hold off and pick up the Vita version when it launches a week after the PS3 version's Valentine's Day release? Sorry, kids, no such luck; the Limited Edition is only available for 360 and PS3. Damn you, HD systems! We'll have a full review of both versions in the coming weeks, so, y'know, don't be a stranger here, either.
