I hope that as you read this news article you are waiting for your shipment or have your copy of The King of Fighters XIII by your side. I'm not looking for excuses here, but if you haven't gotten your own copy I want you to know that the game is waiting for you right now at your favorite retailer.

"The King of Fighters XIII represents tremendous effort on the part of Atlus and developer SNK Playmore to deliver the finest, deepest KOF game ever," stated Tim Pivnicny, Vice Present of Marketing and Sales at ATLUS. "Building upon what was already a fantastic arcade fighter, Atlus and SNK Playmore have worked together and also with respected members of the KOF community to meticulously refine and balance the game. Moreover, a great deal of time was spent testing the game's revamped netcode, ensuring players encounter the smoothest, most stable The King of Fighters online experience ever. From all the attention paid to further improving the game to the terrific pre-order bonus and competitive $49.99 MSRP, we truly view this project as a love letter to fans of the series. We are so thrilled to finally be able to put this highly anticipated new entry for such an esteemed series on store shelves and into the hands of its amazing community."

That's right, the game is $10 off the standard price of new releases. The cash you save can go towards the first downloadable character, Iori with Power of Flames. He'll be available on December 7 on the PSN and will cost $4.99. I'm usually a critic of day one DLC but Atlus is also tossing in stage and background music. It's a lot better the usual "different colors for $9.99" schtick we see in most fighting games. Be sure to check out our expansive media section with a treasure trove of screenshots and videos including some of Iori with his flame powers. You should look through them away, our own Sam Bishop spent a massive amount of time processing those videos for your viewing pleasure.

So what are you still doing here? Get out there and support Atlus, SNK Playmore, and the KOF series! You can thank me later!
